Product Lead

Work pattern: This is a permanent role, working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.
About the Job:
The Product Lead is accountable for defining and prioritising product strategy, setting outcomes, and ensuring delivery of measurable impact for their Program area, while building strong product capability and cross-functional alignment. This includes:
Being a member of the Product leadership team responsible for developing a market leading mental health platform for ProblemShared.
Responsible for defining the Product strategy to support the Business and Program objectives.
Understanding and identifying the underlying needs and problems that our client groups face.
Understanding the marketplace, new technologies and evolving clinical approaches to ensure that we become and remain at the forefront of our field.
Gain an in-depth and extended understanding of the journey that the customer groups are on, and in doing so strive to deliver the best possible outcome for them both during their interaction and after.
Bring experience and ideas to the team, that can be leveraged and applied to help us become a more effective and productive unit.
Main responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Vision
Define, own and evolve a clear product vision and strategy for your product area, aligned to company strategy, priorities.
Translate business and programme objectives into outcome‑based product strategies and roadmaps, aligned to OKRs.
Identify and evaluate new product opportunities and platform capabilities using data, user insight, market analysis and commercial considerations.
Build a deep understanding of clinical, operational and user challenges, working closely with Clinical and Programme leadership to align on the problems to solve.
Maintain a strong understanding of relevant healthcare regulatory and governance requirements, ensuring these inform product strategy and delivery.
Outcome Ownership & Prioritisation
Be accountable for the outcomes delivered by the product area, not just output.
Define, track and report on key product KPIs and outcome measures, using data to inform prioritisation and decision‑making.
Own prioritisation across squads within the pathway, balancing user needs, regulatory requirements, operational constraints and business impact.
Set clear outcomes and success measures for squads and partner with Technology leadership to shape squad structures and capacity to deliver them.
Ensure the user is at the centre of decision‑making by integrating user and market research, feedback, data and insights into product direction and requirements.
Leadership & People Development
Act as a senior member of the Product Leadership team, owning the product lifecycle from discovery through launch and continuous optimisation.
Line‑manage and coach Product Managers setting a high standard in product practice, decision‑making and stakeholder management.
Foster a culture of learning, experimentation and continuous improvement within the product team.
Act as the partner to Programme leadership, ensuring product delivery aligns to programme objectives and constraints.
Work closely with Engineering, Design, Clinical, Operations and other functions to ensure effective discovery, delivery and decision‑making.
Adapt product ways of working to meet the needs of different stakeholders while maintaining strong product discipline.
Product Practice
Set clear expectations for discovery and validation, ensuring assumptions, risks and hypotheses are explicitly identified and tested.
Partner with Engineering and Design to plan and coordinate delivery, ensuring teams are focused on the highest‑value outcomes.
Use experimentation, iteration and data to innovate, measure impact and refine product direction over time.
Maintain strong awareness of the broader business context and user landscape, and ensure teams understand how their work contributes to company goals.
Support teams with the roll out and embedding of product in order to realise the defined outcome
Identify opportunities to improve product processes and practices, sharing learnings across the Product function.
Ensure product strategy and delivery meets all regulatory, clinical, operational and quality requirements necessary for safe and effective delivery.
Communication
Communicate product strategy, roadmaps and progress clearly to stakeholders across the business.
Proactively manage expectations by sharing milestones, progress, risks and changes in a timely and transparent way.
Foster strong collaboration and shared understanding across teams, representing the Product function effectively in cross‑department initiatives.
Knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications:
Proven Product Lead experience
Proven track record of owning and delivering product strategy and outcomes across multiple teams or squads.
Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, ideally within healthcare, healthtech or other regulated domains.
Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with engineering, design, operations and domain experts (e.g. clinical or regulatory stakeholders).
Experience setting and delivering against outcome-based OKRs or KPIs, using data to guide prioritisation and trade-offs.
Strong people leadership skills, with experience coaching and developing Product Managers and raising the standard of product practice.
Ability to influence and build alignment across senior stakeholders with competing priorities.
Clear, concise communicator, able to articulate product strategy, decisions and trade-offs to a wide range of audiences.
Confident operating as a senior representative of Product, advocating for user-centred and evidence-led decision-making.
Keen eye for great design and proven experience of delivering simple/clean UX for users
Understanding of technical architecture with the ability to actively engage with development teams
Prior knowledge of and experience with the Atlassian toolset.
