The Role
We have a new opening for a Head of Commercial Development to join our highly engaged and talented team. You will have the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on the growth of our organisation and the people we help, as well as the autonomy to shape the approach and strategy of our partner relationships.
You will collaborate directly with our senior leadership team and be responsible for building a team to support company objectives and growth.
You will play a pivotal role in securing our position as a trusted partner across each of our service offerings to the NHS (at Trust and Integrated Care Board (ICB) level), to our private institutional customers, and to our university partners. You will lead our efforts to cultivate strong relationships with local NHS bodies, ensuring that our innovative solutions align with their needs and priorities. By driving business development and strategic partnerships, you will help us achieve sustainable growth while delivering impactful services to the individuals and communities we work with.
What you will do:
- Execute against our commercial strategy to position the company as a leading mental healthcare and neurodiversity service provider.
- Build and nurture relationships with NHS Trusts and Integrated Care Boards, fostering trust and collaboration.
- Account manage key private partnerships with insurers and other healthcare providers.
- Proactively lead negotiations and contract management with NHS partners, ensuring mutual benefits and long-term partnerships for both existing and future products and services.
- Stay informed about NHS priorities, policies, and procurement processes to adapt our approach effectively.
- Build and develop industry knowledge focusing on market trends, competitor activities and the broader economic landscape.
- Recruit, develop, and lead a talented commercial team to support business development and partner engagement efforts.
- Mentor and empower your team, ensuring they have the skills, tools, and support needed to excel in their roles.
- Collaborate with internal teams (clinical, operational, legal and marketing) to align offerings with market demands.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings with key stakeholders.
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in a senior commercial role(s) within the healthcare sector, (preferably with the NHS)
- A strong understanding of the NHS structure, priorities, and procurement processes.
- A results-driven mindset with a track record of achieving sustained business growth.
- Exceptional relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders.
- Proven success in building and leading high-performing teams.
- Proactive and enthusiastic approach to work and a bias towards action and problem solving.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills to balance and prioritise workload and deadlines for you and your team.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel and PowerPoint)
- Flexibility to travel as required to meet with NHS partners and other stakeholders.
